Jackie Campbell
Jackie practices as a lawyer and pharmacist, and is particularly interested in understanding how environmental issues impact human health. As an associate at Saxe Law Office, an environmental law boutique, her pro bono clients include Algonquin Eco Watch. Jackie is also a staff pharmacist at the Drug Information & Research Centre (DIRC), owned and operated by the (not-for-profit) Ontario Pharmacists’ Association. At DIRC, she researches and writes on issues relating to all aspects of drug therapy. (First Appointed to the Board of Directors November 16 2006)
Grant J Caven
Grant Caven is Manager of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) for a prominent retail organization with experience in developing, monitoring and maintaining EHS Management Systems and environmental product stewardship programs. To support his current role, Grant has engaged (at a Board of Directors level) several product stewardship organizations and various government and industry stakeholder committees to provide a retail perspective on regulatory development. Previously, Grant held the position of Environmental Geologist, Site Safety Officer for an environmental consulting firm, were he developed expertise in assessing and remediating soil and groundwater contamination resulting from industrial processes. Grant obtained his Post Secondary Education from the University of Guelph in the field of Earth Science. (First Appointed to the Board of Directors November 16 2006)
Sophia Chan-Combrink
Sophia Chan-Combrink is the EcoKids Program Manager at Earth Day Canada. She has also worked with Greenest City, Toronto and UNEP – The World Commission on Dams, Cape Town, South Africa. She has extensive experience in researching, writing and production of environmental materials geared towards children and their families and communications materials such as web sites, press releases, newsletters and media articles. She is Chair of the Ontario Environment Network Steering Committee. She has an MES from York University. (First Appointed to the Board of Directors, October 28 2004)
Nicole Geneau
Nicole joined OCE’s Centre for Energy in December 2005 as the Manager of Skills Development. She will also assist in the launch of the energy centre with the Energy Team in providing leadership to the roll out of programs to our key stakeholders. Nicole joined OCE from Strategy Institute, a privately-held industry research and conference company supporting executive education, where she was a Director with primary responsibilities in program development, business development, marketing and collateral for events, and team management. Prior to Strategy Institute, Nicole was a financial analyst with a telecommunications firm and an auditor with Ernst & Young. She has a degree in Commerce, specializing in Finance from Queen’s and is on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Institute for Environmental Law and Policy and Hedge Funds Care Canada.
