the cielap team - becoming an intern

Intern application form (pdf)
Intern application form (word)

CIELAP is a launching pad for young people who may continue their professional careers in the environmental field. Working with and mentoring young leaders strengthens our ability to work towards a more sustainable future.

CIELAP's Internship Program is an important aspect of our focus on youth leadership and is integrated into the core of the Institute's work. Interns provide direct, hands-on assistance on research projects, community outreach, communications work, and capacity building. They learn skills from staff, are exposed to policy debates, and may have the opportunity to meet decision-makers. The experience and networks that Interns gain and develop at CIELAP provide an excellent foundation for their future success.

If you are a student who requires an internship as a component of your academic study, consider doing your internship at CIELAP. If you are not currently a student, please consider becoming a CIELAP volunteer, in which capacity you can do equally meaningful work. Interns are considered throughout the year and are assessed based on experience and fit with CIELAP's needs. We encourage internships for research, communications, fund development work and capacity building. Please note that all of CIELAP's internships are unpaid.

To apply for an Internship position, please fill out our application form (pdf) (word) and send it, along with your resume, a letter of interest (Attn: Anne Mitchell), 3 references, and a writing sample (20 pages or less) to cielap@cielap.org. Please direct any questions to Carolyn at this email address.

On the application form you will be asked about what area of CIELAP's research or project work you are most interested in. Please see our strategic plan for more information about CIELAP's current priorities.
